Course Description

Course Description

This course ties together cancer with nutrition and mental health. It defines cancer from authoritative sources and identifies several perspectives as to how people get cancer. Three major treatment approaches are discussed – conventional, alternative/holistic, and integrative – bringing the two aforementioned categories together - seeking the best outcome for each individual. Also presented is the interplay between persons with addiction and prevalence and type of cancer. Finally, how one’s mental health can be affected by dealing with a diagnosis of cancer and how to support both one’s physical body and mental health through nutrition is discussed.
